Art Educators’ Lounge: Goal Setting & Online Teaching Tips

We met on Saturday, January 30th with a fantastic group of art educators and shared 2 slideshows (linked below). Although it’s the end of January, I’m still working on 2021 goal setting and planning, so wanted to talk through some goal setting. Here’s the slideshow we shared about this. Victoria also compiled the goal setting tips into a PDF here!

We heard from many of the art educators we’ve connected with previously that they wanted more tips for teaching online. Here’s the slideshow we shared with clickable links to some helpful apps and resources. I’m adding these links here as well:

Apps & Tools

  • Flipgrid – a great tool for encouraging students to engage by sharing videos
  • ClassRealm – a platform for teachers to introduce gamification into their classrooms, encourage better behavior patterns, and promote creative expression
  • Pear Deck – add the magic of formative assessments and interactive questions to your presentations right from Google Slides
  • Padlet – another tool for sharing student work
  • Kleki.com – a free digital drawing website that kids love!
  • SlidesGo – free Google Slides themes and templates (this presentation was made using one!)

Huge thank you to all who participated!! We are so excited about the plans for this group in 2021! We will be hosting meetings on the last Saturday of every month and alternating between Victoria & Rebecca hosting discussions and guest speakers facilitating workshops. I can’t wait to share our line-up of amazing facilitators and topics!
